Grave stele

myminifactory

Discovered on Rheneia Island, this monumental structure assumes the form of a naiskos. Two imposing Corinthian half-columns rise to support an epistyle and a frieze adorned with triglyphs and metopes featuring bucrania, a helmet, and a corselet. Between these two columns, a man dressed in a chiton and himation stands leaning on a herm while shaking hands with a standing woman similarly attired but covering her head as well. To the left, a seated figure rests his chin on his hand. Beneath this ensemble, part of an inscription remains, revealing the names of the two deceased individuals.
