Grave stele

Grave stele

myminifactory

This grave stele was found in Thespiai, Boeotia. It represents a naked youth with a mantle thrown over his shoulder. In his left hand he holds a strigil and a purse. A dog is represented at the bottom. The figure is probably an athlete. The inscription "greetings Agathokles", preserved at the top of the stele, was probably inscribed at a later time. This was made in a Boeotian workshop.
