This poignant relief was unearthed in western Athens, situated within the ancient Kerameikos cemetery. A mature woman, seated regally on a stool, tenderly bids farewell to her devoted daughter. Meanwhile, a bearded man stands resolutely beside her, no doubt the maiden's father, his eyes fixed on the departing figure as he thoughtfully rests his chin upon his hand, exuding an aura of sorrow and introspection. The stele, originally crafted in the form of a naiskos, now lies incomplete, its pedimental crown tragically lost to time.
