Grave stele

Grave stele

myminifactory

Dug up in Athens, this stele boasts a distinctive naiskos design with sturdy pilasters, a beautifully crafted epistyle where an important inscription is carefully inscribed, and a decorative cornice accompanied by antefixes. The deceased woman likely held a sacred place within the Isis cult, as suggested by her attire and possession of a sistrum. A closer examination of the inscription reveals that Daines, Parthenope's husband, was the skilled craftsman responsible for carving this impressive monument in honor of his beloved wife.
