This ancient stone monument was unearthed in Athens. A youthful woman, who has passed away, sits atop a stool, wrapped in a chiton and himation that also drapes across her head, staring intently into the distance. Beside her stands a sorrowful family member. The openings in the ear of the seated figure were likely used to secure metal ornaments.
