Grave stele

A stunning grave stele crafted from Pentelic marble stands in Kallithea's district, south of Athens. A young girl donning a peplos grasps a bird firmly with her raised right hand. Beside her, a relief loutrophoros catches the eye. Inscribed on the epistyle is the name Hagnostrate, daughter of Theodotos, who rests beneath it. On the relief's body, she extends her hand to Theodoros, a young relative, in a gesture of affection. This stele likely originated from an Athenian family's funerary enclosure situated along the road leading to Phaleron's harbour. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World", a pioneering non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory.
