Unearthed in Athens, the stele assumes the form of a naiskos. The name and age of deceased Telesphoros, son of Eukarpos from Miletos, are inscribed on the horizontal cornice of the pediment. On the epistyle, the deceased himself laments his death in sorrowful tones. Depicted as a nude hero, Telesphoros grasps the reins of his steed. Above, a hound gives chase to a hare on the pediment.
