Grappling Hook

Grappling Hook

I designed safer grappling hooks for my boys after they kept trying to make their own out of paper clips. To maximize strength, I broke down the design into four pieces that can be printed separately. It's crucial to ensure the flat side of each hook prints parallel to the build plate during printing. This might require adding supports under the hook and along its threads, but it will align the print layers perfectly and increase the hooks' overall strength. After printing, I recommend sanding the flat sides of the threading section to guarantee a seamless connection between the two parts. The nut may become too tight due to specific print settings, causing difficulties with threading. If this occurs, simply sand the flat sides of the threading sections until the nut threads on smoothly and securely.
