I picked up a Dutch Police Revolver and decided to create a model based on it, adding some character and history through wear and tear. My approach to texturing involved using the Mirroring Workflow and splitting up the mesh to conserve UV space, resulting in visible seams that I believe are unavoidable on this particular model. This project was an opportunity for me to practice using Maya 2019 and Substance Painter, as I transitioned from working with Blender. The goal was to create a realistic style and familiarize myself with the PBR workflow. I created four PBR maps, each at a resolution of 4096 pixels: Diffuse, Normal, Metallic, and Roughness.
