Grande hache polie en silex du bergeracois
sketchfab
This beautiful polished flint axe from the Bergerac region, almost complete, comes from the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne in Médoc and was collected at the end of the 19th century by a local scholar.\nThis piece, very similar to the large polished flint axe from the Bergerac region on display at the Sanguinet museum, is, like that one, an excellent example of the products of the stone tool workshops of the Neolithic sector of Bergerac.\nSuch large blades of axes are found in a wide south-western area of France, serving as excellent witnesses to the importance and extension of exchange networks in our region during the Neolithic period (between 5200 BC and 2000 BC).\nCredits: CRESS (Centre for Scientific Research and Studies at Sanguinet)
