Graham's Brig 28mm
thingiverse
I'm building a drop ship for Rogue Traders to travel between their void ship and the ground, and I'd like to use it in Kill Team or Warhammer 40k. I drew up this design for fun, but it's still very much a work in progress. The model is meant to be taken apart so you can put 28mm figures inside. However, I haven't added tolerance zones yet, so I'm not sure how well the parts will slide together. I want to post this to see if I can get some advice on whether the wall thickness is too much and if something this big is even worth doing on a 3D printer. It measures 650 mm long, 240 mm wide, and 170 mm tall. The hangar bay/cargo bay doesn't have a door yet, but it was originally meant to be big enough for a Tau Hammerhead. I still need to add turrets to the canards on the front, as they're meant to have four, one on the bottom and one on top of each wing. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, so I can fix this design and make it worth printing. A brig is a type of sailing vessel with two square-rigged masts. During the Age of Sail, brigs were seen as fast and maneuverable, used both as naval warships and merchant vessels. 20181017: I added keys to attach parts with .5mm tolerance zones, as well as holes for eight 1" dia. x 1/16" thick magnets so it can be disassembled. 2018110: Happy Birthday Marines! 20181111: I added cockpit furniture, berthing furniture and bulkheads, and an external sensors array to the design.
