GRAFLEX MAKING JIG
thingiverse
This is a drilling/cutting jig for creating your own Graflex replica. It's designed to fit around a 1.5-inch chromed sink-tube, and any metal pipe of the same diameter will work just fine. The iconic Graflex lightsaber has been wielded by Anakin, Luke, Rey, and even Finn in various Star Wars scenes. To assemble the jig correctly, please lay it flat side down on the build-plate. This ensures that all parts are properly aligned during the printing process. It's worth noting that this is a workaround for a "bug" in Fusion 360, which can lead to lazy post-processing results if not addressed. For the dimple jig, use a bolt and nut to secure it in place. Consult accurate Graflex photographs for reference when building your replica. This will help you achieve a precise and authentic finish. The blade holder should align perfectly with both the jig and the completed DIY replica. Printing the bunny ears can be challenging, so make sure to print at a slow pace to avoid any issues. The clamp is specifically designed for threaded sink tubes. If you cut your sink tube in half, you can preserve the threads on one end (use the jig on the unthreaded section) and create a reveal saber effect. Alternatively, you can sand down the threads and simply slip it on. The clamp also features holes for an AV switch if desired. To avoid bending the sink tube or metal tube, drill the holes for the bunny ear cut-out first. Acquire small metal files to square off the two front-side holes. No commercial license is required for non-commercial use of this jig. However, if you plan on selling your finished lightsaber, feel free to do so without any restrictions.
