Graber i3 - Y Axis Bearing Adaptor / Clamp
thingiverse
The Graber i3 3D printer is a Prusa i3 clone with a laser cut MDF frame that's been carefully crafted to meet the needs of discerning makers. The kit I purchased came equipped with a solution for holding the printbed in place using zipties, which, although they work, are unfortunately not up to the task due to the intense heat emitted by the printbed. As a result, the MDF structure begins to warp and bend, causing it to collide with the zipties that hold the rails in position - clearly not an ideal situation. In search of a better solution, I set out to find a more reliable way to keep the printbed secure. After conducting some research and experimentation, I came up with a design for a custom adapter that would allow me to upgrade the bearings on my Graber i3 printer, resulting in improved performance and reduced wear and tear.
