Grabby 2 (WIP)
grabcad
I've created a work-in-progress of the new Grabby based on Mikk Olli's drawings, and plan to get feedback from GC staff for improvements. Since Christmas is chaotic, I'm sharing it publicly with everyone. Although not complete or perfect yet, I will continue working on it when time allows. Add your configurations (currently 2.5) and feel free to make changes. The animation by A3NCAD can be found here: Grabby as Surprise - animation. Note that early renders may not reflect the final SW model, and you can see his evolution in various STL files. This Grabby model received an Honorable Mention for Most Buzzworthy Model at the 2012 Golden Gear Awards and appeared in a few blog entries, including one where GrabCAD printed him (blog.grabcad.com/2013/02/printing-n-presenting/). Additionally, I used this model for a tutorial on feature tree cleanliness (grabcad.com/questions/tutorial-tips-on-keeping-your-freature-tree-clean-and-orginized) in the Software Tricks of the Trade challenge. Please give credit for the original and press the like button if you use Grabby. Share your models or renders featuring Grabby here to see where he ends up!
