An upgraded version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:67533 has been released, featuring a gear set to securely connect the arms. Assemble and attach the string along with rubber-bands, then use it to pick up objects. Note that this iteration may have difficulty fully closing; however, further improvements on the design have concluded.
