Grabber for small objects and sheets paper
myminifactory
When using a wheelchair, picking up small objects or single sheets of paper from the floor can be extremely challenging or even impossible with typical grabbers. Fortunately, there are specialized tools available that can make this task much easier. However, these grabbers often struggle to grasp tiny items or thin papers. The design typically involves a flat surface that struggles to conform to irregularly shaped objects. I came up with the idea of attaching a sticky pad to a custom-made holder. These pads are commonly used to secure cell phones to car dashboards and can be easily washed and reused when they lose their stickiness. To create this holder, I designed a part for the sticky pad using a ball joint to keep it nearly horizontal. This requires printing with minimal supports and then breaking them loose after the print is complete. A handle was also designed, which can be found in various forms online. For the stick itself, a piece of plastic tubing from my local hardware store was used, with a radius of approximately 11.5 mm.
