Kim Lathrop's Team Wins MakerBot Award with Groundbreaking Device At the recent Bay Area Makeathon, Kim Lathrop's team earned top honors for Rapid Prototyping using a revolutionary stick that lets Kim perform everyday tasks with her mouth. A crucial breakthrough, this grabber allows her to pick up and move objects independently, greatly enhancing her quality of life. Kim is particularly thrilled about the endless possibilities this innovation presents: "Having control over daily routines has given me a tremendous sense of empowerment - now I can set a beautiful table for visitors, a task I couldn't accomplish before." Thanks to tireless effort and innovative thinking from all members - including need knower Alex Gecht, prototyping expert Noam Platt, Maayan Kahana who mastered software implementation and the indispensable design contribution by Inbal Halperin - they made multiple prototypes using a Replicator Desktop 3D Printer, leading up to this final prototype that has completely changed the way Kim does things every day.
