Another variation of the Raspberry Pi model 2 is available. This version incorporates an 80mm fan located in the base. The initial print was created quickly using low resolution to speed up the process. Some tweaks were made and it's now ready for review. A high-quality version will be printed later this week, so stay tuned for potential updates if any issues arise. To improve airflow, a cone-shaped structure has been added inside layer 2. It directs air directly to the Pi before rolling down through the honeycomb vents. First, attach the PI to layers 2 and 3 securely. Plug in the fan before assembly since it will be difficult to access after combining layers 2 and 3 with four M3 x 16mm screws. Next, position the fan within the base, then connect layer 1 to the assembled layer 2 and 3 using four #6 x 1.25 long screws. No tapping is necessary for this version as everything can be assembled by hand. The print times were: Layer 1 took two hours, layer 2 required four hours, and layer 3 was completed in 45 minutes. Date: 2.4.16 An additional base design with a hexagon pattern has been added to provide less airflow but better print quality. Date: 2.5.16 The dividers between USB ports on layer 2 have been strengthened for added durability. Date: 2.27.16 Version 2 is now available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1376026. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Dual Extruder Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 20% Notes: Loose drops will be present under the arches in layer 1 and inside layer 2 near the mounts. However, this was not a significant issue during printing.
