GPZ 500 1st Gen Mirror Extension I'm proud owner of GPZ 500 and let me tell you, the stock mirrors are really terrible. You're forced to lift your arm up just to see what's behind you. That's when I decided to design and print this bracket that extends and raises my stock mirrors. It works fantastically well now and I can see what's happening right behind me at all times. I printed mine in white, which matches the bike perfectly since it's blue and white, but black would probably fit in with most other colored bikes just fine. Print Settings Rafts Absolutely none necessary here! Supports: Don't even think about it! Resolution: I set mine to a crisp 0.2 mm - perfect for this project! Infill: Twenty percent is where I settled, but you might want to try ABS instead of PLA since it seems more suited. Notes One thing I'd like to point out is that if you don't have problems with warping, try going higher than twenty percent on the infill setting. However, I couldn't push it past 20% without ending up with a pretty warped bracket! What you'll need to do: Simply print two of these brackets and then take out the screws located underneath the rubber shroud that hold your mirror in place. Grab yourself two longer M6 screws - mine were 60mm long. Swap out the mirrors using this bracket and the new screws! If you decide to use regular old bolts, just cut a slot on the end with a Dremel so it's easy to screw them in with a flathead screwdriver since the bolt head fits into the mirror bracket's recess. Try your best to find those longer M6 screws, they're worth it!
