GPU Vertical Mount - SLI
thingiverse
A cutting-edge vertical GPU mount for SLI configurations. I conceptualized and designed this innovative mount from the ground up, leveraging an old case to determine precise PCI slot dimensions and riser cable alignment. Initially conceived in December 2017, I was unable to find a suitable pre-existing design on Thingiverse that met my specific requirements. This custom-built mount is engineered to seamlessly fit into most full-tower cases, necessitating at least eight available slots for optimal compatibility. Notably, graphics processing units (GPUs) possess considerable height, posing significant space constraints in vertical mounting configurations. My primary case of choice is the Corsair 780T. To accommodate cable connectivity, I had to carefully cut out a section where the GPU resides when mounted vertically. This modification proved essential for securing the cables and ensuring reliable operation. An added benefit of this design lies in its adaptability; if ever needed, it can be easily converted back to traditional mounting. #### Essential Components To assemble the mount, you will need to procure several fasteners, which are specified below: Machine Screws M4 Countersunk: -- 16mm x 5 -- 12mm x 12 -- 10mm x 2 Flat Washers M4 - Quantity: 19 Self Locking Nuts M4 - Quantity: 19 Machine Screws M3 Pan Head - 16mm - Quantity: 4 Flat Washers M3 - Quantity: 4 Self Locking Nuts M3 - Quantity: 4 #### PCI Riser Cables The Thermaltake TT Gaming PCI-E x16 3.0 Black Extender Riser Cable, measuring 200mm in length, is highly recommended for optimal performance and connectivity.
