thingiverse
Human: A custom GPU bracket is designed specifically for the ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080, with a matching water block from ekwb. The bracket features a void and wiring hole that allows a short RGB strip to be inserted, illuminating the logo and writing on the front. The STEP files are included, enabling users to customize the design to fit their system's unique requirements. A detailed assembly diagram is provided in the pictures folder, outlining the necessary steps for a successful build. To assemble this custom bracket, you will need the following hardware: 1x M4x40 hex head bolt (slide mechanism) 1x 4mm standard washer (slide mechanism) 3x M4 standard nut (slide mechanism) 6x M3x6 Allen key button head bolt (led back-plate) 2x M3x8 Allen key button head bolt (corner brace) You will also need: 1x tube superglue or permanent thread lock To assemble the slide, follow these steps (refer to the exploded diagram in the pictures folder): 1) Press the heated nut into the hexagonal cutout on "GPU 1080 - Alex". 2) Press the heated washer into the cylindrical cutout of "Sliding Assembly". 3) Press the heated M4 hex bolt into the hexagonal cutout of "ThumbWheel". 4) Tighten the M4 nut onto the M4 hex bolt, securing "Thumbwheel" between the bolt head and nut. 5) Screw the "Thumbwheel" assembly through the press-fitted nut in "GPU 1080 - Alex". 6) Apply the M4 nut approximately 3mm from the end of the M4 hex bolt and thread lock/superglue in place, allowing it to dry completely. 7) Slide the "Sliding Assembly" into place, ensuring a rotational surface exists between the press-fitted washer and thread-locked nut. 8) Apply the "LED Backplate" using M3x6 button head bolts (heat the bolts to cut threads in plastic). 9) Apply the "Corner Brace" using M3x8 button head bolts (heat the bolts to cut threads in plastic). The "Corner Brace" and "LED Backplate" can be omitted from the assembly if you want to reduce plastic usage.
