GPS Pedestal for a Mini Quad
thingiverse
This design was tailored exclusively for the Diatone GT200 Quad and UBLOX Mini GPS but can be adapted for other quads with ease. The base measures 30x30mm, while the total height comes in at 82mm. A 7mm diameter shaft provides a sturdy foundation. To accommodate various units, I deliberately made the holder oversized. By adding two extra layers of clear shrink wrap to the GPS, I achieved a tight fit. After numerous trials and errors, I found that this pedestal height enables the GPS to function flawlessly without interference from the electronics. In my downstairs workshop, I can lock onto 6-8 satellites with the quad in full operation. My friend successfully printed it using carbon fiber, which boasts impressive strength and flexibility - even bending the shaft at a 90-degree angle fails to cause any damage.
