Enclosure for a super accurate Arduino GPS clock. Basic description and sketch here:
learn.adafruit.com/arduino-clock/software?view=all
I expanded this with a charger, Lipo, on/off switch and a touch toggle switch.

The display is bright enough to be visible through the printed enclosure so have fun with different colors for the outer shell. Sand the contact areas on the inner part so that the shell slips smoothly over it. I printed this in PETG for dimensional accuracy but PLA should be fine. Shell prints without support, ad a brim for adhesion.

Power on/off is wired to GND and EN on the powerboost board.
Toggle switch powers the Metro mini and display together. Just powering on/off the display doesn't work but both together come on immediately anyway. GPS is powered as long as the Power boost charger is on.
Added the Lipo to be able to carry this around as GPS signal inside the house may be difficult to find at any given time. The display seems to draw a fair amount of current so the lipo lasts about 36 to 48 hours on a full charge. Had an antenna cable around, but this seems not to be necessary.

Adafruit 0.56" 4-Digit 7-Segment Display w/I2C
Adafruit Metro Mini 328
Adafruit Ultimate GPS Breakout
PowerBoost 1000 Charger
Standalone Toggle Capacitive Touch Sensor Breakout - AT42QT1012
Lithium Ion Cylindrical Battery - 3.7v 2200mAh
5.85x8mm Latching Type Miniature DPDT PushButton Switch - Flat Head

Empiricus@Dremomys

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Wanhao

Printer:

Duplicator 6

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.150

Infill:

50

Notes:

PETG, PLA

Category: Electronics
