This awesome GP bird was crafted with Tinkercad's online editing tool at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/g3H6Nbf8GGm. After constructing this magnificent model, I discovered that it had a nose-heavy design, and to avoid adding cumbersome lead weights to the thin surfaces of the wing, I devised a clever solution - creating a compartment for leads. This compartment is securely attached using 3M double-sided foamed sticky tape, which is commonly used in RC servos. The compartment is then filled with sinker lead weights from my tackle box. One of its best features is that you can easily add or remove the weights as needed. I had some reservations about relying solely on the 3M tape for this purpose, so I added a strip of Duck tape to provide extra security. To match the overall aesthetic, I chose a bright red color. So far, with over 50 flights conducted in winds ranging from 10-20 MPH, this design has proven to be remarkably solid. One additional benefit of this compartment is that it doubles as a landing skid on the back of the model.
