Govan 16
sketchfab
Govan 16 (Stirling Maxwell's numbering; ECMS 14) stands out as one of 31 early medieval recumbent cross-slabs originally recorded at Govan Old in 1899. Currently displayed upright against the wall, these monuments would have originally lain flat in the churchyard, possibly marking the grave of a significant individual from that era. Damage has been sustained by this stone; unfortunately, no records exist for what its lower part may have looked like. This 3D model was created as part of Dr Megan Kasten's PhD research and can be accessed here: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/74266/. The 3D model was developed using SfM photogrammetry with Agisoft Metashape, then edited with Zbrush. While the download of this 3D model is free, supporting the Govan Stones by donating to the Govan Stones Appeal is greatly appreciated if you are able to do so.
