Govan 15
sketchfab
Govan 15 (Stirling Maxwell's numbering; ECMS 34) stands as one of 31 early medieval recumbent cross-slabs originally documented at Govan Old in 1899. Currently displayed upright, these monuments would have lain flat in the churchyard, likely marking the grave of a significant early medieval individual. This monument is fragmented, and records are nonexistent for what the lower part would have looked like. The stone was reused between the 17th-19th centuries, at which point the initials 'A.R.I.R.' were added. This 3D model was created as part of Dr. Megan Kasten's PhD research, available here: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/74266/. The 3D model was constructed using SfM photogrammetry with Agisoft Metashape and edited with Zbrush. While the download of this 3D model is free, if you can support the Govan Stones, please consider donating to the Govan Stones Appeal.
