Govan 13 (Stirling Maxwell's numbering; ECMS 38) stands as one of 31 early medieval recumbent cross-slabs originally documented at Govan Old in 1899. Today, it is proudly displayed upright and against the wall of the church, but these historic monuments would have originally lain flat in the churchyard, possibly marking the grave of a significant early medieval figure. Like many of the recumbent monuments, this stone was reused sometime between the 16th and 19th centuries, evidenced by the addition of initials, indicating its reuse over time. Govan 13 bears a striking resemblance to Govan 20 in design. This detailed digital model was created as part of Dr Megan Kasten's PhD research, available for viewing here: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/74266/. The 3D model was crafted using SfM photogrammetry and Agisoft Metashape software, with final edits made with Zbrush. While this 3D model is freely downloadable, supporting the Govan Stones Appeal by making a donation would be greatly appreciated.
