This is my vision for the year 2411 Quin-centennial Model 1911-A1 redesigned for service in John Scalzi's "Old Man's War" Universe, taking creative liberties to reimagine this classic firearm for a futuristic setting. As I re-read "The Old Man's War Series" by John Scalzi (highly recommended to any sci-fi enthusiasts), I assigned the Colonial Defense Forces (CDF) Officer's Corps as the primary users of this upgraded sidearm, allowing me to build upon existing tech without starting from scratch. However, I chose not to delve too deeply into the energy production mechanism, leaving some details open to interpretation while still staying true to the spirit of Scalzi's universe. Although John Scalzi doesn't explicitly mention the use of sidearms in his work, it's logical to assume that officers and high-ranking officials would require a reliable, effective handgun for their duties. By filling this narrative gap, I present the CDF Mod. 2411-A3 as my interpretation of how the Colonial Defense Forces might address the need for a sidearm in John Scalzi's universe.
