Gottlieb Pinball Bonus Ball Backglass Protectors
thingiverse
These protectors safeguard against bonus balls releasing and removing paint from the backglass. This is a fairly common issue and can be seen in the accompanying photos. They are retained by magnets. While these protectors might not be at the optimal height for aesthetic appeal, I am content with them. It's likely they have some degree of flexibility. If they make contact with the backglass near the top, I wanted that area to be free from paint, so I left them at this height. The protectors slide into their holders, and these holders feature magnet holes to facilitate attachment to the underside of the bonus ball trough. Instructions: There are 3 protectors based on placement in the machine. The holders require magnets to be attached. I acquired a set of 6 magnets from Home Depot. They measure 12mm x 3mm. I printed the holders upright for added strength when securing the protectors. Additional support material may be required for the magnet hole.
