Gotham by Gas Light Batman
sketchfab
Here is a possible interpretation of what a "Gotham by Gas Light" version of Batman might look like: Imagine a dark and gritty Gotham City, lit only by the flickering flames of street lamps and the occasional candle in a tenement window. The air is thick with the smell of coal smoke and grease from the city's many factories. It's 1885, and Gotham is still a rough-around-the-edges place, where crime and corruption run rampant. In this version of Gotham, Batman is not yet the superhero we know today. He's more of a vigilante, using his skills as a detective and martial artist to fight against the evil that plagues the city. He's a bit of a loner, preferring to work alone rather than with the authorities, who often seem more interested in lining their own pockets than in actually keeping the peace. Batman's origins are different in this version too. Instead of being a billionaire playboy, he's a working-class guy from the wrong side of the tracks. He's lost loved ones to crime and corruption, and has dedicated his life to fighting back against the forces that destroyed them. He patrols the streets of Gotham on foot or by horseback, using his knowledge of the city's underworld to track down the bad guys. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty, and is always willing to take risks to protect the people of Gotham. As he delves deeper into the heart of darkness that is Gotham, Batman begins to realize that there are forces at work in the city that are far more sinister than he ever could have imagined. The streets are filled with corruption and deceit, and it's up to him to uncover the truth behind the city's troubles. Can Batman overcome the evil that threatens to consume Gotham? Or will the darkness prove too great for even the Caped Crusader to conquer?
