Gotek 5.25" Mounting Bracket
thingiverse
This bracket is designed specifically for mounting a Gotek floppy emulator PCB inside a 5.25" drive bay. The front panel features mounts for a 2.23" 128x32 OLED display, a rotary encoder, and a USB socket. All these components require wiring back to the Gotek PCB. The orientation of the panel components is reversed compared to most brackets due to its design to fit in an E-mu Emulator II sampler where the floppy bay is on the left-hand side of the keyboard. This setup allows the OLED screen to remain visible while turning the rotary encoder. This bracket is printed flat and then folded into shape with snap-fit living hinge joints, eliminating the need for support material. However, a large print area (23cm x 18cm) is required. If the snap-fit joints break when assembling, it may be necessary to try newer or better quality filament. My own bracket was printed using "ANYCUBIC" black filament from Amazon UK. The additional electronic components used are: Encoder - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x/183813474065 USB breakout - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x/232686107596 OLED - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x/192568293514 Installation requires experience with electronics, specifically: - Converting the OLED to i2c mode instead of SPI by jumping certain settings. - Desoldering the original USB socket from the PCB and installing jumper headers in its place. - Removing pull-up resistors from the encoder, if present, and soldering header pins to the back rather than front of the encoder board. Support for these steps will not be provided here. If assistance is needed, join the "FlashFloppy" group on Facebook and consult the FlashFloppy Wiki.
