Gosper Curve Coaster

Gosper Curve Coaster

I wanted a coaster that didn't let a vacuum form under the glass because of condensation, that way it doesn't lift the coaster all the time.

A naive solution is to just use some straight ridges but this means that small glasses can be easier to tip. Lots of bumps have this same problem because they create cliffs.

So I wanted a coaster that didn't make long straight cliffs, the Gosper Curve makes a great way to do that.

Instructions

New versions fix the slic3r issues that I had before. Shouldn't need scaling now since they're a bit thinner. I have printed every version of it I've made but I haven't gotten my camera out yet.

The v3 files will have better positioning of things so I'd definitely recommend using them, and they should slice better so have at it. The zip file has the openscad file to generate the two stls (the uploaded versions have been through netfabb, that's the only difference). The SVG files are used to make the dxf files, they're basically all from wikipedia and playing with them in inkscape to get the right markup to let me generate everything.

AUTHORS COMMENTS:

I'm attempting to print it for the first time right now, I'll update this if it works with a picture and be revising this to use a gosper island and a upload the openscad files.
Category: Household Supplies
