The Zora are a recurring species in the Legend of Zelda franchise. The Zora are a humanoid, aquatic-dwelling species that thrive in vast oceans. Despite their lithe appearance, the Zora are a relatively serene population. They are generally considered, perhaps superficially, to be of advanced intellect, although there is no clear indication of this in the games; in fact, there is evidence to the contrary, such as their remarkable ability to construct sprawling metropolises ahead of all other species in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and some Zora's roles as marine archaeologists in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Aside from Gerudo and Koroks, the Zora are the only species shown both in Majora's Mask and other games in the series. Since Majora's Mask is generally accepted as one of the middle games in the series' chronology, this makes the Gerudo, the Koroks, and the Zora some of the oldest confirmed species.
