Goro, a legendary figure from the universe of Mortal Kombat, was brought to life by ed boon and John Tobias. Initially introduced as the primary antagonist in the original game, Goro served as a formidable boss, facing off against Shang Tsung in the final showdown. Born into a ancient tribe known as the Shokan, Goro possesses four arms, boasting both human and dragon characteristics. After dominating the Mortal Kombat tournament for five centuries, Goro's reign was cut short by Liu Kang in the inaugural game. Uncommonly crafted using puppet animation technology on top of a clay sculpture base, Goro stood out from the majority of Mortal Kombat fighters who were modeled after real-life actors. As subsequent installments progressed, two other Shokan fighters joined the series - Kintaro and Sheeva. Nonetheless, Goro returned as a playable character in Mortal Kombat Trilogy before re-emerging in Mortal Kombat 4 on home console platforms as both a sub-boss and an unlockable fighter, marking his supposed redemption and alignment with good. A deal struck between Goro and Shao Kahn would see him once more embracing villainy and returning as a playable fighter in the 2004 edition of Mortal Kombat: Deception for GameCube and PSP. Subsequent appearances can be found in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, a reboot launched in 2011, as well as its sequel two years later. Reviewers widely recognize Goro as one of the cult characters within the Mortal Kombat franchise due to his reputation as an unforgettable and intimidating boss within gaming history.
