The Gorlov helical turbine (GHT), receiving the 2001 ASME Thomas A. Edison Patent Award, was invented by Professor Alexander M. Gorlov from Northeastern University. Operating on similar principles as the Darrieus turbine and various vertical-axis wind turbines like Turby and Quietrevolution, GHT, Turby, and Quietrevolution all addressed pulsatory torque issues through a helical blade twist. This information can be found on Wikipedia.
