The Western Lowland Gorilla, scientifically known as Gorilla gorilla gorilla, was first described by Savage and Wyman in 1847. This magnificent species is also referred to as the Coastal Gorilla or Western Lowland Gorilla. A specimen, MZB 2010-1163, has been discovered, featuring a right hindlimb, consisting of a femur, which is the longest bone in the leg. The individual in question is an adult female, approximately nine years and eight months old. This remarkable creature resides at the Barcelona Zoo in Spain, providing a glimpse into the life of this incredible species.
