Gordy’s Bakery JWizard Christmas Village Store/Cottage Collection 4/13/2020 Designed by JWizard (Use only 3-6 volt battery sources for lighting. DO NOT USE ELECTRIC LIGHTING. USING ELECTRIC LIGHTING IS A FIRE HAZARD). Thank you for choosing JWizard Christmas Village Store/Cottage Collection models! Gordy’s Bakery is the first Christmas village store in the JWizard collection. We use our own custom stenciling in our models to create bricks, tiles and bezels. The original size of our model is larger than we can fit on our print bed. Scaling in your slicing program offers nice customizations for the model. The model includes a base surrounding the building that can be used as a sidewalk to place accessories on. At 80% of scale in the X,Y and Z axis in your slicer, the model is the appropriate size for the people and the accessories you can have in a Christmas village. You can increase the width of the building by increasing the scale beyond 80% on the Y-axis. For example, you can increase the width of your building by scaling in the following manner: You can scale at 80% on X-axis, 93% on Y-axis and 80% on Z-axis in your slicing program. This will allow your model to work nicely with Christmas village accessories and make your building have a larger width. These scale settings were used to create The Gordy’s Bakery that you see in the photo. You can experiment changing the scale of the Y-axis since the decorative features of the building will remain unchanged. You can decorate the inside of your building. You can light it up with low voltage battery led lights. Left and right light trays were created to help you with the placement of your lights. The following Files are included: Gordy’s Bakery.obj Window-32x32.stl (using transparent PLA window will print opaque) Door Window-18x18.stl (using transparent PLA window will print opaque) Materials used to create model in photo: Tianse wood PLA was used Sunlu clear PLA Roof – Apple Barrel Chocolate Sprinkle Walls – Apple Barrel Nutmeg Brown Bricks – Red Sign – Black Sidewalk – Apple Barrel Pewter Grey 2 Kitosun Submersible Floralyte V circular lights with remote Idea’s: Use 3-6 volts led battery lights that do not hang too low. All lights have different brightness. Chose the appropriate brightness for your building. You can try circular lights, they look like pucks. Make sure they do not hang down too low and can be seen through the windows. You can try other types of low power battery led lights that face away from the holes. All types of battery led lights offer a different amount of brightness and/or color. It might be best to find low voltage battery operated led lights that you can control with a remote control. We really like the Kitosun Submersible Floralyte V as used in the photo. Select the type of lights that best meet your needs. DO NOT USE ELECTRIC LIGHTS. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD. You can use acrylic paints. Imagine a brown store, red bricks and a dark colored roof. You can really enjoy finishing your building and create a lovely one of a kind piece. If you use PLA wood, you can buy a few stains for the building and a few acrylic paints for the finer details. We purchased 3 colors of wood stain. One of our projects will be to make the roof dark. The building will be medium dark and the door will be the lightest stain. You can glue clear plastic on the windows to create a see-through glass look. You can print opaque glass with transparent pla filament. Light will pass through it yet you cannot look inside the window. For an office that requires privacy, this may be appropriate. Included is the opaque window for your model. You can create a whole village of these buildings as we release new models. We have printed so many varieties of these buildings. Conclusion: This project took 3 months to create. Countless hours of work and print tests! We enjoyed every aspect of this project. This includes the design, computer programming, test printouts, final building structures and documentation. We have created a variety of models for many people. They were extremely pleased with the models detail and appearance. If you implement all the suggestions provided should be successful in creating a lovely one of a kind 3d model that you can use in your display. This model could be a great gift idea for someone special! Let us know how you like JWizard’s Gordy’s Bakery store model. Please post your makes and share your comments!
