This is a Gopro tripod mount I created for a monopod, so I can attach my action camera in the field without lugging around a traditional tripod setup. The first thing I tried to do was find a reliable design on thingiverse that incorporated a nut insert, but nothing seemed to hold up well. That's when I thought of grabbing a simple 1/4-20 nut from my local hardware store and getting it glued into the slot using super glue - problem solved! All you need to do is use a nail file or similar tool to smooth out any excess plastic around the nut hole and between the wedges, ensuring a snug fit that doesn't stretch your print. I redesigned this model several times before releasing it here, so you can be sure it's ready for use - in fact, if you push too hard on the nut insert, your entire model might snap! In hindsight, grabbing that single part at my hardware store was much more cost-effective than purchasing a whole new print from elsewhere. Using a small flat head screw to carefully remove support from around the nut hole will give you better clearance - once you're done, all that's left is tidying up with your nail file, then your model is ready to use!
