I created an improved version of the printed piece by adjusting the tolerances and making it more robust. I built a customized OpenSCAD model for further customization. Check out the link to view photos: https://flic.kr/p/BVyEeX Now that the print is complete, let's get started with post-printing tasks! Thread Tapping Using a 1/4 inch tap, thread tapping was performed. A challenge I faced while thread tapping is that the tapping screw was not readily available in Europe, so it was recreated from scratch by casting some resin onto the printed part and molding it into shape. As an alternative, a 6mmx1 thread can be tapped instead, but this may not result in a perfect finish. Next Step: Inserting M5 Nut The next step is to insert an M5 nut into the printed piece. A crucial tip for successful insertion: Warm the nut with a torch and then carefully place it flush with the part's end. If the nut is inserted incorrectly, the thread on the bolt may not reach it.
