My buddy picked up the GoPro three-way and I thought why not take it for a spin by creating one myself. My first stab looked pretty sharp, but still needs some refinements like adding bolt slots and beefing up the joints. It's printing nicely, however upon finishing it up, it feels quite fragile, so I'm gonna pump up the walls to make them more robust. Version 2 update! Went back to the drawing board, rewired the entire design from scratch and voila! We're making progress here. The only hitch is a few tweaks still needed, but Version 2 already rocks pretty solidly on its own. To get straight to the point I swapped out that tedious screw base for something slicker – just waiting to attach the mini tripod later. Alas, in the process of flexing those joints' muscles, disaster struck! My new buddy snapped right off its peg, hence no photo opportunities. No problem though - what we have works just fine with one teeny adjustment still on tap – specifically tweaking that nifty snap-fitting GoPro mounting interface to perfectly match. Now you see two lovely bolt holes, higher up being exactly the place where those sleek, built-in GoPro covers will meet this mod for their union. As it is I shall take yet another step forward with my 2025 plan of an even leaner and more snazzy design; until then fingers crossed. August 9, 2014 Version two, what's good here: printable & performs well enough but needs better interior and more sturdy supports. You will be able to keep this build alive for far longer since this will help give rigidity with a stronger exterior which I guess was never going happen - at least, if we look into it carefully and the design does take time so we do want those few extras for future users and their long-time friends. As per usual before diving straight into printing: just note your own dimensions for whatever type of custom GoPro housing that'll sit within. Don't make yourself cry on August 6th. This was the update after making it printable but again you know my thing: print it later as that'll still leave room and an open slot (there’s plenty in any case ) and get into making or redesigning your version before it’s even possible so here is an opportunity where others do come in – be glad we share this for you guys! Also, feel free to take those mod-friendly components you may like and work your way to perfection since after all it did only look good, but not near optimal which we shall rectify right up and before printing time. August 5th Update time once more & you'd rather wait on the goPro to sit inside for it then wait because here lies one last issue. First and foremost a bit about how my first iteration works which wasn’t half bad. Here we go, when they were snapped on fine at all but since my own mods have got little problems, the other accessory bits will definitely require more than usual effort: do get out a few markers then. Don't just wait because there’s that slight problem that may not take too long – if everything fits alright like any modular pieces of plastic in some very handy goPro designs with a little less space at all points in which every component fits fine. As the new prints still snap perfectly onto my three parts you could easily print but since one mod does fail as before to match all possible versions from start I just won't use accessories at least so we see. You'll hear of a good change once more after fixing and updating the walls here: with even those not fully set designs being optimized properly with a little extra bit going onto your current model too, this will look awesome when everything’s set!
