GoPro quick release handle - Floats!
thingiverse
I needed a versatile grip for my Yi Action cam and other waterproof point-and-shoot cameras but couldn't find one that easily attached to a GoPro mount. I designed mine using a 10% infill, 4 walls, and 10 layers for the top and bottom in PETG. It floats! I tested two versions while snorkeling around Poipu and Kona. Unfortunately, I'm back home now, but made some adjustments after the fact. I replaced the camera "leash" hole (3mm) with a finger groove, lengthened and thickened the grip slightly. The increased handle volume provides more buoyancy for heavier cameras like my Panasonic TS3. However, it may not be enough for my TS3 now, but it should still help. Print this upright. Ideally, the GoPro quick release mount wants layers to be applied perpendicular to the mounting surface, which can be challenging. As a compromise, I canted the mount over at 45 degrees. You likely won't need any supports; I didn't require them either. The hole at the handle's bottom is 6mm in diameter. A length of paracord and a toggle worked perfectly for me.
