GoPro Print Bed Mount
youmagine
Mount your GoPro camera to the moving bed securely by attaching it underneath the heated printing plate. This clever placement ensures that heat will not interfere with the mount, guaranteeing optimal performance. The design also allows for unobstructed movement of the frame in both full up and down positions. To assemble the two parts, apply a small amount of glue, but note that they fit together smoothly without it. To install properly, raise your bed from advanced options beforehand. After installation, re-adjust your bed to ensure seamless operation. Alternatively, you can mount the camera from the side of the bed closer to the supports, but use caution and consider this option at your own risk. When printing the bolted section with three fins facing down, start by printing very slowly for the first 5mm to prevent the fins from detaching from the print bed. Use a freshly cleaned and leveled bed to achieve the best results. In my experience, using a clean and unheated print bed (PLA material used) yields exceptional outcomes, especially when printing rounds. Design Notes: Initially, I aimed to mount the camera vertically with a swivel mechanism, allowing for easy removal when the bed is lowered. However, due to clearance issues and the risk of the print head colliding with the camera, I opted for this design instead. While it's possible to make the vertical mount work, I'm considering releasing a V2 version soon if time permits.
