GoPro Plastic Bottle Cap Mount The concept is to utilize any plastic bottle as a grip, stand, or float simultaneously. Various solutions can be found here on Thingiverse, but none of them met my expectations. The idea is ingenious; it provides a free GoPro grip while also making the camera buoyant in water. Although a 3D print may not be entirely watertight, it is sufficient to allow the GoPro to float. I designed the mount with 3D printing and common engineering principles in mind: - No supports are required due to the sloped inner overhang - Sharp edges are rounded, especially in high-stress areas - Edges that sit on the printbed have been smoothed out; they could otherwise cut your hand when tightening the cap - Walls are thick enough for some infill printing to create a sturdy part - Size was kept minimal to prevent bulkiness - The surface is grooved for better grip I used the standard thread called PCO1881. This newer style is lightweight and has a lower profile, as opposed to the older PCO1810. Its outside diameter is 27.4 mm and pitch is 2.7 mm. The drawing was printed, tested diving in a lake with the GoPro Session, and met my expectations. I hope you will find it enjoyable!
