You can transform a standard lav mic into a custom handle with a unique flag of your choice using this microphone holder. The design includes an IGES file that you can modify or add your own text to, if desired. To assemble this custom mic holder, you'll need a few extra items: * 8 O-rings with an ID of 3/4", an OD of 7/8", and a width of 1/16" * A camera-compatible lav mic * A handle designed to accommodate a 3.5MM jack * Removable adhesive, such as hot-glue, or permanent glue like epoxy or super glue To print the handle: * Printer brand: Ultimaker * Printer model: Ultimaker 2 * Rafts: Not required * Supports: Not necessary * Resolution: Choose your desired level of detail * Infill: Use a setting between 10-20% After printing, you'll need to assemble the mic holder by: * Gluing the handle and body together, if desired * Running the microphone cable through the handle so that it sticks out the bottom and the mic sticks out the top * Securing the microphone to the clip with adhesive of your choice * Leaving a small wire inside before attaching the bottom clip, in case you need to remove the clips later * Placing O-rings into the grooves without glue, although a dot of CA glue can be used to prevent them from rolling off To add text to your custom mic holder, you have several options: * Use paint or a stencil to apply it directly to the handle * Apply a sticker to the handle * Modify the STL file in a program like Meshmixer and then print the updated design Once you've completed your custom mic holder, you can enjoy using it like a real-life news reporter!
