GoPro Mic Adapter Holder Hero 9, Hero 10, Hero 11, Hero 12

This is a holder designed to hold the official GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter underneath the GoPro Hero 9 or GoPro Hero 10 (might work with Hero 8 - I don't have one to test). This holder is specifically designed to be used with the newer GoPro Hero cameras that have the USB-C socket on the right hand side of the camera. It is has a cold shoe for attaching a microphone such as the Røde VideoMicro as shown in the photos. The cold shoe is positioned as far away as possible so that the wind muff visible as little as possible, even when using wide lenses such as Super View.It is also designed to be as compact as possible when it comes to height. Shown here with the GoPro Shorty tripod/selfie stick.Due to its complex shape, I have used a lot of supports to print the holder. Feel free to experiment with print orientation and supports as you see fit. However, I recommend that the centre hole where the adapter fits into is printed vertically without supports as this is a very critical dimension. On my i3 Mk3 the adapter fits snugly in without any sanding/filing. Your print may vary in size and some filing/sanding might be required. Please note that if the fit is too snug, you might damage your Mic Adapter. Please don't force it in, if it doesn't fit. Increase the size of the hole/print instead, for example, try printing at 101% or something. The 2 and 3 prong GoPro finger mounts will also need filing and sanding to get them to fit in a good way. I have found that it is easier to sand/file them so that they work well, especially as they usually require supports to print in a solid way. I also recommend running a 5mm drill through the holes to make sure they are round and fit well. A bit of filing with a round file will probably make the hole a bit more easy to use. You will need an M5 nut, I prefer a Nyloc nut, to secure the three prong mount. To press the nut into the recess, use another 2 prong mount, and a longer M5 bolt with a nut on the other side to the nut to be recessed. This way you won't squish the prongs and cause them to break and the longer nut allows you to get enough purchase on the nut that's to be recessed and you can twist the bolt into place by tightening the nut/bolt on the other side. I hope this makes sense. If not, feel free to ask and I'll try to come up with a better explanation.I've included the G-code for a 0.20mm layer height print in PETG as a sample, but I recommend that you use the 3mf and configure the print to your liking. 0.15mm layer height is probably better, and perhaps increase the numer of perimeters. Please note; Camera, microphone, tripod, mic adapter and M5 nut not included in the print. Hope the print works for you and let me know how you got on, feel free to ask questions.Happy printing!
