GoPro lens Air Blast bracket

GoPro lens Air Blast bracket

If you use a GoPro Hero camera in a wet environment, with splashing liquid (in my case inside the case of a CNC Milling machine cabinet with flood coolant) you end up with a constant annoyance of droplets in your video. Since flood coolant is often milky in color it really looks terrible. There are some “unwettable” surface lens covers but I wasn't a huge fan, plus flood coolant has specific agents in it to make it adhere to surfaces (even oily surfaces). Since my CNC Mill has a compressed air supply (for the tool changer) it seemed a small air blast over the lens would keep it clear. This bracket has made the videos much, much clearer. I ended up not using the main air-supply as I then would need a pressure regulator (not going to blow 150psi air onto my GoPro - it would take off like a rocket) but an aquarium pump works great, and is silent (and gets activated by the mill's relay that starts the coolant pump). It not only keeps the liquid but also the “smalls” off the lens (the tiny metal chips often in the liquid). It doesn't even interfere much with the audio of the GoPro (not that the audio in a milling machine is all that special) I have included the STEP file for those who want to edit the design for their use case.
