GoPro Hula Hoop Mount

GoPro Hula Hoop Mount

pinshape

I set out to create a more professional-looking hula hoop mount, inspired by some makeshift designs I had seen. I teamed up with an experienced hula hooper to ensure the dimensions were just right. The result is a sturdy mount designed specifically for 3/4" minor diameter and 33" major diameter hoops. In the future, I plan to create a shim that will accommodate smaller minor diameter hoops. Since I don't own a hula hoop or know anyone nearby who enjoys this hobby, I'm counting on you to test and refine this design. To print this design, use your 3D Systems CubePro printer with the following settings: No rafts, supports enabled, and a resolution of around .2 mm. For infill, aim for a moderate density between 20% and 40%. Only support material is necessary for the larger piece's cylinder and possibly for the holes or hex nut openings. After printing, three captive nuts will be available for secure attachment. Two are crucial for securing the hula hoop, while the third, located on the GoPro mount portion, is less essential. Use 4-40 hex nuts (available at McMaster-Carr: http://www.mcmaster.com/#90480a005/=10ap1ln) and pair them with two 4-40 .5" pan head machine screws (also available at McMaster-Carr: http://www.mcmaster.com/#91772a110/=10ap3cb).
