GoPro Hula Hoop Mount

GoPro Hula Hoop Mount

I had decided to design a more polished hula hoop mount after seeing some improvised ones. I worked closely with a hula hooper friend to ensure proper dimensions. This mount is specifically designed for use with 3/4-inch minor diameter and 33-inch major diameter hoops. Eventually, I plan to create an additional shim for smaller minor diameter hoops as well. As I don't currently own a hula hoop or know anyone nearby who practices the activity, please build and test this design. Print Settings: Printer Brand: 3D Systems Printer: CubePro Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: A setting around .2 should work fine - that's what I used. Infill: The infill percentage shouldn't be too low; 20% to 40% is a suitable range. Notes: Support structures are likely only necessary for the large section of the cylinder and possibly for the holes or hex nut openings. I chose not to add any supports initially. Post-Printing: Three captive nuts are included in this design - two are crucial, while one (located on the piece that the GoPro mounts on) is less important. The two critical fasteners secure the hula hoop are 4-40 hex nuts (available at http://www.mcmaster.com/#90480a005/=10ap1ln) and should be paired with two 4-40 .5" pan head machine screws (available at http://www.mcmaster.com/#91772a110/=10ap3cb).
