GoPro Hero 7 Continuously Overheats During 4K Recording, Automatically Shutting Down. GoPro's Solution: Disable 4K or Remove Battery. Not Satisfactory. I Utilize My Camera on a Fixed Mount and Record for Extended Periods Using an External Power Source. To Minimize the Likelihood of Shutdowns While Capturing in 4K, I Designed a Custom Cooling System Replacing the Standard Battery Compartment. This Innovative Solution Draws Power from the Leads Meant to Charge the Battery. The Micro Fan Chosen for this Application Measures 15x15x5 Millimeters and Operates at 5 Volts, Purchased on eBay for $10. Additionally, I Repurposed Contact Springs from an Old Hard Drive to Ensure Proper Connection. As a Result, I Need to Leave the Battery Door Open When Using This Modified Cooling System, Which Isn't a Concern for Me.
