GoPro Hero lens offset bracket

GoPro Hero lens offset bracket

Most GoPro action cameras have the lens offset from the center-line of the mount. On the GoPro Hero 6 for instance the offset is 15mm; I'm not sure about other models. When attaching the camera to, for instance a bicycle, this offset can cause the video footage to be slightly unsymmetrical. If like me you are a bit on the autistic spectrum this can cause annoyance (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nxn4aikPpXg @ 2m25s and this has been corrected). I designed a bracket that will account for the lens offset so when mounting the camera the lens is on the mount center-line. I have provided several different lengths from 30mm to 150mm; all have the same 15mm offset. I have printed the brackets in PLA+ PETG and TPU. Make sure you have good thick walls (perimeter), top and bottom surfaces. I print with 50% triangular infill. I have found TPU the most useful material as it is tough and has some flex to absorb vibrations. After printing insert a standard 5mm nut into the hexagonal hole. Use a standard GoPro style mounting bolt to secure the camera to the bracket.
